FAQs
A guide to some frequently asked questions about our practice.
-
Do you accept Medicaid and/or Medicare?
Short answer… not right now. Long answer… State and federal regulations have strict guidelines regarding what types of providers can see patients covered by medicaid and medicare. The most important one in this case is whether the therapist holds an independent license. Because our staff with available openings are provisionally (not independently) licensed providers, we do not have any Medicaid or Medicare spots at this time. It may be several more months before new appointments open up. (As of August 2025)
-
If I am covered by Medicaid and Medicare, could I be seen by a therapist if I pay cash?
Short answer… no.
Long answer… Because of the requirements described above, even if a client is paying cash, accepting Medicaid and Medicare clients with a provider that isn’t independently licensed can result in malpractice issues.

What if I’m nervous about starting therapy?
It’s completely normal to feel nervous before starting therapy—many people do. Beginning this process means you’re taking an important step toward caring for yourself, and it’s okay to feel uncertain. Our first sessions are designed to move at your pace, giving you time to ask questions, share only what you’re comfortable with, and get to know how I work. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin—just showing up is a meaningful start.
-
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other and setting the stage for our work together. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your hopes and goals, and any concerns you may have. I’ll explain how the process works, answer your questions, and work with you to create a plan that feels comfortable and manageable. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
-
Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?
Yes to both!

Do you have a therapy dog? Can I meet them?
